Share Images, Audio , Video or other text files
with other Laptop from yours. This tutorial will explain how to send any file
between two laptops via Bluetooth. Although, It will also work for the PCs
which are Bluetooth hardware enabled or external Bluetooth hardware connected.
As you may find yourself in such situation that you need any
file from your friend`s or home`s laptop and you don`t have any other source
i.e. Pen-drive or external Hard-disk to transfer that file. Bluetooth will help
you in such situation.
That`s very simple and very similar as you share files in Mobile Phones. So, It`s not a big deal for you at all.
Here we go…
- Turn on Bluetooth in both the Laptops or PCs
- Click on Start Menu >> Control panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Add a Bluetooth device
Note : You can also find Bluetooth from the Notification Area or
Search in Start
Menu search box for “Bluetooth” , and Select Add a Bluetooth device. If
device once
connected, you can choose Bluetooth file Transfer for further
sharing.
This will Search for the Bluetooth devices and Select the
desired device where you want to send your file.
- Accept the Request on other laptop and Pair the both devices.
After Successful
pairing or connection,
- Choose your file to Send and Right Click on that file
- Click on Send to >> Bluetooth device
- Choose the device from the list in next step where you want to send the file and follow the steps.
- Accept the Request on second laptop.
File Sending will start….Congrats.
Although, Video or Audio files may take long time to transfer depending on their sizes.
These are the easy and simple steps.
Note that You can also share any file from laptop to Mobile or Mobile to laptop.
The procedure will be the same.
Remove following problems with provided steps, you might face.
Only file Sending, Not able to Receive :
If you face any problem like You can only send but not able to receive the file.
You have to Receive file manually.
follow these Steps :
- From Notification Area >> Click on Bluetooth >> Receive a file
OR
- Search in Start Menu search box for " Bluetooth " and choose Bluetooth File Transfer >> Receive files

Then Send the file from the other device i.e. laptop, PC, Mobile.
Make Discoverable or Able to Connect with other Devices :
If you find your laptop is not discoverable by other devices after turning on Bluetooth or Not able to Connect with other Devices, There is something wrong.
You must check your Bluetooth Settings to make sure that it is discoverable or able to Connect with other devices.
- From Notification Area >> Click on Bluetooth >> Open Settings
OR
- Search in Start Menu search box for " Bluetooth " and choose Change Bluetooth Settings
- Select ( Tick ) all the Check-boxes i.e. Discovery, Connection, Alert as shown in Image below.
